Fewer potholes on the roads, the joint development of Mol and the University of Pannonia

The oil company said that a section of the M83 motorway was inaugurated using rubber bitumen, for which the raw material came from Mol's Zalaegerszeg plant. The chemically stabilised rubber bitumen was developed jointly by Mol and the University of Pannonia, and the product can be transported, stored and used later, making it suitable for large-scale production and for use far from the production site. According to the company, roads built with this technology are one and a half times more durable because they are less likely to develop potholes and ruts. Rubber bitumen is also environmentally friendly because the tyres used to make it are recycled.
