The ForrásTÉR community room has opened on Óváros Square in Veszprém, which serves as the rural representation of the Hungarian Development Promotion Office (MFOI) to support and help businesses. The initiative is a cooperation between the city and the University of Pannonia.
The coworking office, including laptops, a digital whiteboard and a 3D printer, was set up by the University of Pannonia. The university's faculties will in future provide support, especially to creative industries, with plans to organise exhibitions, programmes, training and various services, but they stress that the community space is open to all.
The aim is to create a meeting point for the cultural and creative industries of Veszprém and the surrounding area, where they can contribute to the further development of the region through business development, training and information on direct EU funding.
In his welcome speech, Dr. János Abonyi, Rector of the University of Pannonia, said that today's modern universities have the task of being active participants in economic development and successfully contributing to the development of a region's innovative capacity. He added that well-functioning creative spaces, cooperation and closer links are key to success. He underlined that the University of Pannonia is happy to participate in these initiatives.
