Aimen Kecheroud has been selected to participate in the Stipendium Generale Excellence Program, which is designed to provide exceptional students with the opportunity to extend their knowledge and achieve their academic goals. He is a student of the University of Pannonia since his arrival from Algeria in 2021.

Aimen is a dedicated student who has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to his studies and a passion for learning. Before 2021 he actually looked at other scholarships from other countries (even got an offer from Ireland).

  • But I chose Hungary for a very specific reason. My studies mainly deal with applied linguistics, so English was really nothing new to me, and I wanted a bit of a challenge, a new language, a new culture, and that’s exactly why I came to Hungary, he told us in an interview.

To the question, why he specifically chose University of PannoniaI, he answered: ’In my Bachelor years I studied Applied Linguistics. I was simply fascinated how language works, how children acquire language and how brain processes it. I looked at all the universities in Hungary, searching for a perfect option, one that hits the target for me and I’ve found nothing better than University of Pannonia’.

He didn’t regret his decision, as he said: ’Hungarians as a whole (and that comes by no surprise) are a bit preserved, but i would say they are really nice guys. Especially if you say a few words in Hungarian, attempt to speak in Hungarian. They don’t really judge people, they really try to communicate with us international students, that’s really wholesome, and this wholesomeness increases when you go to Veszprém, because it’s not a tiny town but it feels like everybody knows eachother’.

Since he has shown excellent academic results and has been recognized for his hard work and dedication by being selected for this prestigious program.

This recognition is an honor for both Aimen and the University of Pannonia, and demonstrates the high level of talent and excellence found among the student body at this institution.

When we asked him, what helped him to get this unique opportunity, he replied: ’Besides all the support we get from our professors and the University - I would mention the quality of education, that is just outstanding here. I wouldn’t reach this level where I am today without this, so I owe this award to the University and to my professors.

  • I think University of Pannonia is severely underrated, despite it offers something that other universities don’t: you are free to explore here. You got all the support you need, so you can focus on your studies and be a pioneer here and be the best in your field.

Aimen's participation in the Stipendium Generale Excellence Program will help to further his education and prepare him for a successful career in his field. He is an inspiration to his fellow students and a credit to the University of Pannonia. Congratulations to Aimen on this well-deserved recognition!
