Under the patronage of the Nature Award-winning Women in Science Association, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO, the Excellence Award for Women in Science is announced again this year.
The Excellence Award for Women in Science is open to applications from Hungarian female researchers with a PhD degree who either hold Hungarian citizenship or identify as Hungarian by nationality and who:
Engage in outstanding research or technological activities in the field of earth sciences or work as medical researchers, biologists, or researchers in related interdisciplinary fields*,
Are actively involved in domestic research and development,
Conduct activities primarily associated with Hungarian research institutions, universities, or enterprises,
Earned their PhD degree no more than 10 years ago (this period may be extended by up to 3 years per child for time spent on maternity leave or full-time childcare).
*Applications are welcome from candidates conducting research or technological activities in the following fields:
Mathematics or Informatics – Division III (Mathematics), Division VI (Automation, Computing, Informatics, Telecommunications Systems)
Space Research, Material Development, or Astronomy – Division VI (Materials Science and Technologies, Automation and Computing, Fluid and Thermal Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Devices and Technologies, Machine Structure, Informatics, Transportation Science, Metallurgy, Fiber and Composite Technology, Solid-State Mechanics, Telecommunications Systems), Division VII (Materials Science), Division XI (Astronomy, Space Research, and Materials Science).
To support research activities, colleagues are encouraged to nominate candidates for the Excellence Award for Women in Science. The professional success and career achievements of outstanding female researchers are significantly supported by female technicians, laboratory assistants, and other professional aides who assist and support them.
