For the tenth time, the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival will be held from 27 January to 4 February 2024, with the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pannonia as the host institution from 1 to 3 February 2024.
Between 1 and 3 February 2024, the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pannonia will host the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival in FOTON, Veszprém. For the fourth consecutive year, the host institution has been promoting documentary culture, film art and community-building opportunities. In 2024, the event will take place in an unusual location, in the newly built FOTON building.
The Budapest International Documentary Festival celebrates its 10. anniversivery in 2024 and asks the question: How did you spend your last ten years? "Our 10 years, in our country, with our struggle, with our desires, with our secrets and with our faith, have been spent bringing the world's most prestigious films to Hungary - for the audience. The 10 years that have passed are symbolized on our surfaces by 10-year-old children, because it is not all the same how 10 years pass in the life of a society or a person," say the organizers.
During three days, seven award-winning films, professional discussions, Civil Ambassadors and morning screenings of Student Films will be held in Veszprém. The 10th BIDF will once again feature new films by Oscar-winning directors and Oscar-nominated films (Defiant, Total Trust) were invited by the organisers. After each screening, the audience will be able to talk to the filmmakers and experts.
