Another new international recognition for the University of Pannonia

The University of Pannonia has achieved another internationally recognised ranking. Since 2010, the Round University Ranking (RUR) has measured higher education institutions in more than 80 countries. The latest, 2023 survey is based on the data of the 2019-2020 academic year, and despite the difficulties of the Covid period, our university achieved an outstanding position, ranking 773rd out of a total of 1200 universities, making us the seventh best Hungarian university, ahead of BME and Corvinus.

The ranking measures four different areas of university life: Education, Research, Internationalism and Financial Stability. These sectors also function as separate rankings, so it is easy to see how each institution ranks in each of the four pillars of higher education. In terms of weighting, the first two pillars provide 40%-40% of the overall score, the second 10%-10%. Publication data are analysed by the ranking editors using Scopus, all other data must be uploaded by the reporting institution.

The University of Pannonia is the strongest from an educational point of view, ranked 549th in the world. Primarily because of the value of the faculty-student ratio, our university pays particular attention to developing a close, supportive relationship between university citizens, and the rankings are a good proof of this.

In the research category we ranked 919th. In the areas of Internationalism and Financial Stability, there were fewer discrepancies, with 759th and 725th respectively. International collaborative publications was the strongest factor in the sub-pillar, earning us 106th place. In financial terms, the share of the total budget devoted to research is outstanding, ranking us 235th internationally.
