THE EXCITING BEGINNING
OF A MEMORABLE JOURNEY

The enrollment week is normally held in the beginning of September and February, when each accepted student should be here at the University of Pannonia to enroll themselves for the next academic year / semester.

Only after the enrollment can students visit the Immigration Office. Students will receive more information about their enrollment procedure from the International Mobility Office.

How is the academic year?

Each academic year consists of two 14-week long semesters followed by a 6 week examination period each.

Read Students' Survivor Guide

Once you have enrolled as a student of the University of Pannonia, you will need to find the immigration office. We recommend students to visit the immigration office with their student mentor.

Upon the students arriving in Hungary with an initial  single entry visa the residence permit application must be submitted within 30 days.
Thus applicants need below documents to get residence permit.

  • University contract or enrollment
  • Student status document
  • One facial photograph
  • Admission letter( scholarship)
  • Letter of award(scholarship)
  • Valid Passport (for at least 3 month)
  • Address card
  • Bank account
  • Health insurance

Erasmus + students

If you are an Erasmus + student you do not need to apply for a student card. You will receive a temporary certificate document from the International Mobility Office, which students will need to prolong every two months.

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship students

Students with SH scholarships will need to request and fill out an application form to enter the ‘NEK’ - National Card System. Students will need to fill out their profile on the Neptun system as well. The International Mobility Office can help with the process, but students are responsible for giving the correct data and information in order to successfully apply for a student card.

Stipendium Hungaricum Students must open a bank account and request a tax number themselves, since they can only receive their financial contribution once these are arranged. Students must notify the International Office of their bank account numbers and tax numbers.

When you are an Erasmus + student you do not need to open a bank account or apply for a tax number.

We recommend self-funded students to open a bank account and apply for a tax number if they are looking to work next to their studies.

Only students with Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship will need to apply for their Social Security Number (SSN) or (in Hungarian) TAJ number. After arranging their accommodation and registering themselves at the immigration office, the International Office at the University of Pannonia will request their SSN.

Please note: Requesting a SSN number is only possible after notifying the International Office Of  your residence permit from the Immigration Office

What is the cost of living in the region?

Affordable living costs between 70.000- 100.000 HUF /month (excluding accommodation). Living conditions are identical to the Western Standards.

Brick Zone, the new gym of the University of Pannonia: The renovated gym is open for both students and visitors of the university, offering students discounted entrance and seasonal ticket prices. University Days of Veszprém

1969 may remind some people of the year of the moon landing, but for the majority of the local students of Veszprém, this year is the first year when the University Days of Veszprém (VEN) were organized! The country's first series of University Days are held every two years and have become the most important hallmark of student life at the University of Pannonia, with a campaign lasting for several months. 4 teams of students competing in different fields, own concerts, high-quality shows, a parade that mobilises the whole town and the election of the Student Rector of the University of Pannonia at the end of the event.

Faculties' ball

A traditional way to get to know your colleagues better, students from other year groups and your lecturers at an event where, after the formal elements, you can enjoy the fun of the Faculties Ball.

Freshers' ball

Or Stork Ball as we call it. The stork is a migratory bird that flies to warmer climates when the cold weather arrives. At the University of Pannonia of course it is not the case, the decorated lobbies create quite a hot atmosphere every year to make the freshmen, and older students feel at home, recite the Oath of Freshmen and to get ready for partying until the morning- all dressed up for the event.

European Capital of Culture

Did you know that Veszprém, together with the Balaton region, will be the European Capital of Culture in 2023? This outstanding and unique opportunity will boost culture, creative industries, tourism and international relations in the region.
